Li Yang

Institutes of Biomedical Sciences, Fudan University, China

Li YANG received his bachelor degree in Biochemistry in 1998 and PhD degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in 2004. After his post-doctoral training in RNA Biology with Dr. Sidney Altman and RNA Systems Biology with Dr. Brenton R. Gravely from 2004 to 2010, he started his independent research at CAS-MPG Partner Institute for Computational Biology in 2011. He is now a Distinguished Principle Investigator at Institutes of Biomedical Sciences, Fudan University. His lab focuses on developing computational pipelines, together with deep-sequencing technologies and diverse biochemical methods, to decode expression, function and potential application of long noncoding RNAs, including circular RNAs, on developing and applying the-state-of-the-art base editing technologies to recode genetic information for basic research and genomic medicine, and on pioneering artificial intelligence models to identify hidden roles of key RNA sequence and structure features in biology. He has published over 100 papers with Google Scholar citation > 21,000.
