Frederick (Fritz) Roth, PhD, Professor and John K. Vries Chair of Computational and Systems Biology, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine
Trained in physics and biology at UC Berkeley and Harvard, Roth has worked in two biotech companies and as faculty at Harvard Med School and the University of Toronto, He now chairs the Computational and Systems Biology Dept at Pitt. His team developed early computational approaches for mining transcriptomes and protein and genetic networks. His group is now focused on comprehensive large-scale testing and inference of the functional impacts of human protein-coding variants.
