Prof Hilda Pickett
Head of the Telomere Length Regulation Unit, Children’s Medical Research Institute
Hilda Pickett is Head of the Telomere Length Regulation Unit at Children’s Medical Research Institute (CMRI), Sydney, and Professor in the Faculty of Medicine and Health at University of Sydney. Prof Pickett received her PhD from the Department of Genetics at University of Leicester, UK, and completed postdoctoral positions at Cancer Research UK, St James’s University Hospital, Leeds, UK, and at CMRI, Sydney. Prof Pickett is a molecular biologist, and research in her lab encompasses telomere length regulation, telomere maintenance mechanisms, and DNA damage and repair pathways. Prof Pickett has a particular interest in the Alternative Lengthening of Telomeres pathway, and its activation in cancer cells.
